2048 is a free online puzzle game you can play right in your browser. Slide the numbered tiles, merge matching pairs, and keep going until you reach 2048. Every move pushes all the tiles in one direction and drops in a new 2 or 4, so the 4x4 board fills up faster than you expect. The rules take ten seconds to learn, but a high score takes planning: keep your largest tile in a corner, build in one direction, and don't let small numbers get stranded in the middle. How to play: • Use the arrow keys (or W A S D) to slide every tile in that direction. • Drag with the mouse, or swipe on a touchscreen, if you prefer. • When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one, and the merged value is added to your score. • Each move spawns a new tile; the game ends when the board is full and no neighbors can merge. Reach the 2048 tile and you can keep playing for a bigger score. Your best score is saved automatically in the browser, so every visit starts with a clean board but your record stays. Click New Game (or press R) whenever you want to start over.
